Eddy Out Sustainability Consulting
Now taking 2027 EPR registrations

Serious environmental work, scaled to fit your organization.

We handle emissions accounting, multi-year reduction planning, and EPR filings for manufacturers, municipalities, and family-run operations. You get numbers that hold up, filings that clear, and a clear picture of what to do next, explained in plain language, start to finish.

What we do

We do our best work when we understand your whole picture.

So we start by scoping it with you, then quote only what you actually need. These are the five areas we work in most.

Why Eddy Out

We work on the floor, not the top floor.

We love working with companies that are already trying to do the right thing and just need someone to prove it with numbers. Our job is to hand you data that makes sense. Data that saves you money, grows your customer base, and keeps you compliant, all inside the budget you actually have.

A GHG inventory shouldn't cost more than the boiler it tells you to replace. Every reduction strategy we write has a payback number attached. If it doesn't help your bottom line, it doesn't go in the report.

Let's find something that works for you.

Tell us what you're facing: a deadline, an investor question, a utility bill that keeps climbing. We'll tell you straight whether you need us, and what it would cost.

Who we are

Founded on the idea of protecting what matters most: our environment, our communities, and your business's future.

We like the companies that are already trying.

Our favorite clients aren't the ones with a glossy ESG department. They're the operations manager who already swapped the lighting, the founder who won't ship in mixed plastic, the plant that fixed its steam traps because it was the right thing to do. They just need someone to put real numbers behind it. Numbers that save money, win customers, and satisfy a regulator, without blowing up the budget.

Sustainability isn't one-size-fits-all.

Every organization faces different constraints: an old plant, a thin margin, a supplier who won't return emails. We sit down with your data, your operations lead, and your budget, and build a strategy that fits all three.

In-depth emissions analysis, compliance support, funding strategies, stakeholder engagement. We're here to think through the complexity with you and stay in it until it's handled.

Commitment to a brighter future.

Financial, social, and environmental growth aren't just compatible. They're inseparable. Economic success and environmental responsibility go hand in hand.

We help organizations drive profitability through sustainability: reducing costs, securing funding, and building brand value while lowering emissions and improving resource efficiency.

Garrett
Founder & Principal Consultant

Yes, that's a photo of Garrett skiing instead of a headshot. It's on purpose. This is the reason he does the work. Snowpack, water, and the seasons that depend on them are the whole point, and he'd like to keep skiing on them for a while yet.

He leads emissions accounting, EPR strategy, and procurement work at Eddy Out, and wrote a community sustainable procurement guide now in use beyond the town it was built for. He's happiest on a plant floor with a utility bill in one hand and a meter reading in the other.

Hazel Baur
Associate Consultant

Hazel's sustainability work runs through food. As a Sustainable Food and Bioenergy Systems major at Montana State University, she thinks in whole systems: where a thing comes from, what it costs to move, and what's left over when it's done.

She handles project support across our engagements and is building Green Forks, a sustainable restaurant certification for Bozeman. Her focus is sustainable food sourcing, and her connections in the local restaurant community mean the improvements she recommends are ones kitchens can actually make. Outside of work she's hiking, snowboarding, climbing, anything that keeps her outside.

Extended Producer Responsibility

Let's get you compliant, together.

If you sell packaged goods into California, Colorado, Maine, Maryland, Minnesota, Oregon, or Washington, extended producer responsibility probably applies to you. It's a lot to keep straight, and you don't have to figure it out alone. We'll walk your obligations with you, state by state and stream by stream, and handle the filings from there.

Beyond packaging

Packaging is usually the first thing people hear about, but it's rarely the only one that applies. We'll check every regulated stream with you so nothing quietly slips through.

We're invested in every client's journey, and we stay connected long after a project ends. Every one of these started as a phone call about a deadline, a grant, or a number somebody needed defended.
